Let start of by explaining what SLI does.
SLI take advantage of multiple GPUs by having them render out different part of the screen. This in turns means that the GPU would have more resources at their disposal to render out each part as now it has less of a screen to render for example, 2x1080ti 11gb in SLI means that each of them would render half of the screen but they still have 11 gb of video memory to do the job. The same goes with 3-way SLI and 4-way SLI if your mobo supports it
No Intel's iGPU cannot run in SLI
this is due to three reasons
- Most board than can support two cpu are server board and they don’t support SLI or crossfire(AMD version of SLI)
- SLI is a NVIDIA technology and is made specifically for their architecture.
- Graphics cards in SLI uses a thing called a SLI bridge which connect the two cards together
